The five best series to watch on Netflix this weekend

The cloud of content keeps bursting on Netflix every week, making our weekend marathons inadvertently easier to curate. This week is no exception, so let’s get going already.

The streaming giant has showcased a powerhouse lineup of content so far, pretty much acting as an off-season Santa Claus with surprises aplenty. So, in case you were tired of the thought of having to scroll and choose and do it all over again, we recommend a chill pill.

Netflix understands the idea that entertainment should be easy, which means spending entire weekends deciding what to watch next is absurd.

Instead, make a list of the snacks to munch on because the five best series to watch on Netflix this weekend have you covered otherwise.

The five best series to stream on Netflix this weekend

Nemesis (Courtney A Kemp and Tani Marole, 2026)

You may have second thoughts about kick-starting a full-fledged crime drama in the middle of the week, but weekends have no room for excuses when it comes to as gripping a thriller as Nemesis. The eight-episode Netflix series focuses on two men operating on opposite sides of the law, who clash to represent what happens when a highly skilled criminal meets an equally brilliant and determined detective.

Nemesis starts as a subversion of the heist genre, packed with thrilling do-or-die stakes, tense family dynamics, and high-stakes action. But in the process, it evolves into an examination of everything that ultimately keeps us going, sustaining while simultaneously destroying us. While you must have already caught up on the buzz surrounding the heist thriller online, the weekend is the perfect time to decide for yourself if the hype is worthy.

Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine (Albert Pintó, David Barrocal, and José Manuel Cravioto, 2026)

For Money Heist fans, this weekend must be of prime importance, especially those who haven’t been able to catch up on Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine on its debut day. And if you’re one of them or someone entirely new on the block, the Money Heist spin-off centres on the iconic Berlin, portrayed by the fan-favourite Pedro Alonso, who reunites with his crew in Seville to pull off a daring heist.

Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine follows the titular character and his group as they prepare to steal Da Vinci’s priceless Lady with an Ermine painting, after being hired by the Duke and Duchess of Málaga. But when the powerful couple starts blackmailing Berlin in turn, the elaborate heist evolves into a revenge-driven mission against the two.

The Law According to Lidia Poët (Matteo Rovere and Letizia Lamartire, 2023-2026)

Loosely inspired by the life of Lidia Poët, the first modern female lawyer in Italy, The Law According to Lidia Poët is an Italian period drama that just came to a close with its third and final season. In case you missed out on the last chapter or are yet to begin with the series, it tells the story of the first woman officially qualified to practice law in Italy, who is disbarred in 1983 by a misogynistic court.

Determined to overturn the decision, The Law According to Lidia Poët follows her as she prepares an appeal to win back her right to practice, all while working at her brother Enrico’s law firm, investigating cases and using her intelligence to prove the innocence of accused clients. The series interweaves historical context with fictionalised investigations, with each episode typically centring on a murder case Lidia investigates.

Everyone Is Doing Great (James Lafferty, 2026)

While life is not exactly short of reality checks, if you prefer them on your watchlist too, you cannot miss Everyone Is Doing Great this weekend. The comedy drama, co-created by One Tree Hill stars James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, revolves around actors Seth and Jeremy five years after the conclusion of their hit vampire TV show, biting on the bitter pills of the consequences of fleeting fame.

The struggle to stay relevant is pretty real, but what intensifies the challenge is when the burden grows twice as much, thanks to a professional dry spell, a failing marriage, and personal insecurities. Although Everyone Is Doing Great is primarily a humorous, mellow, and witty pick, it may sometimes come across as a painful coming-of-age story for some adults. But all we can suggest is: don’t take it to heart because not everyone is doing that great either.

Devil May Cry (Adi Shankar, 2025-Present)

To wrap up the weekend marathon, we have a fish out of the water in the queue, Devil May Cry, effortlessly ready to add flavour to the binge session. The adult animated action-adventure series follows Dante, a demon-slaying mercenary tasked with preventing demonic invasions of Earth. Set in an alternate timeline, the series focuses on stylised action and character-driven drama, focusing on Dane as he confronts his vicious twin brother while fighting a demonic infiltration.

Forced to confront his past, Dante decides to go against all odds to stop everything and everyone that comes his way. Devil May Cry captures his quest, driven by sheer willpower, as he sets out for the unknown, facing unprecedented danger, betrayal and foes. While the second season just hit Netflix shelves a while ago, if you haven’t been able to tune in yet, do it now and make the most of the weekend.
