Call My Agent! The Movie (Emilie Noblet, 2026)
Set five years after the events of the hit French series, Call My Agent! The Movie follows former ASK agency agent Andréa Martel, who trades managing artists for a director’s chair. The film opens with Andréa preparing for her feature directorial debut when, just days before production, the lead actor unexpectedly exits to fulfil another professional commitment, and to make things worse, she’s also on the outs with the producer.
As the team unravels before the shoot can even begin, Andréa is forced to turn to her former ASK agency members, who have all chosen different paths in their professional careers after the agency was effectively closed. Call My Agent! The Movie centres on Andréa’s journey of reinvention, which is plagued by a cascade of disasters, recasting, a looming legal battle, and, of course, a chaotic reunion.
Vanishing Point (Cheng Wei-hao, 2026)
Directed by Cheng Wei-hao, Vanishing Point is a gritty Chinese crime thriller, currently available on Netflix. Set in a worn-out apartment building in Chongqing, the movie centres on three parallel incidents that slowly entwine in the creepiest of ways. The inciting incident is when a father, Tang Yu, discovers his son, Tang Nuo, has gone missing without a trace from the stairwell.
At the same time, in a neighbouring unit, compulsive gambler Yan Wu grapples with the sudden death of his father and resorts to an unthinkable decision. Meanwhile, months ago, a young woman named Lin Yutong was the victim of a drug-facilitated assault during her sleep, and the perpetrator remains at large. Vanishing Point follows the intense investigation that follows, connecting every thread of the crimes.
Why Did I Get Married Again? (Tyler Perry, 2026)
Serving as the long-awaited threequel, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? reunites the old group of friends in Lake Como, Italy, for the destination wedding of Marcus and Angela’s daughter, Jasmine, and Roselyn’s son Wesley. Although the older gang seems to have outgrown their bad habits, we cannot really say the same about the younger generation.
In one way or another, they seem to repeat the elders’ mistakes, making it clear that the bride-to-be and groom-to-be have a fair share of skeletons hidden in their closets, including past infidelities and health scares. Why Did I Get Married Again? follows both messy generations on the chaotic Italy-bound destination wedding as they all bring their own baggage to the ceremony.
The Secret Woman (Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg, 2026)
Directed by Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg, The Secret Woman is a new psychological thriller on Netflix about Louise, a woman who runs a small café on a peaceful Norwegian island with her fiancé, Joachim, when a stranger unexpectedly approaches her. He reveals that Louise is actually Helen Soderberg, a Danish shipping heiress who’s presumed dead.
She has a husband and a young son back in Denmark, and a DNA test proves that he’s right. Determined to discover the truth about the life and identity she no longer remembers, The Secret Woman follows Louise as he leaves Joachim to return to Denmark, only to discover the dark truth behind leaving them years ago.
The Alto Knights (Barry Levinson, 2025)
Lastly, to wrap up the marathon, we recommend a hard-hitting biographical crime drama, The Alto Knights, directed by Barry Levinson. The 2025 movie, currently streaming on Netflix, chronicles the real-life mid-20th-century rivalry between New York City mob bosses Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, both played by The Whisper Man actor Robert De Niro.
The Alto Knights flashes back in time to show how Costello and Genovese grew up together as best friends during Prohibition before going their separate ways in the Luciano crime empire. The historical crime thriller kicks off with an assassination attempt on Costello, ordered by Genovese, setting the stage for a suspenseful story that blends history, mob war, and a deadly feud.
