After several months of anticipation, Heartstopper Forever is finally here to conclude the love story of Nick Nelson and Kit Connor with a feature-length movie, marking the end of the fan-favourite saga. Directed by Wash Westmoreland, the film picks up right after the events of the third season, where the romantic pair were completely inseparable. However, what is a finale without some hard-hitting reality checks?

As the reality of Nick going to university sets in and Charles gets the taste of independence, they are ultimately forced to confront the challenges of a long-distance relationship. Heartstopper Forever follows the series protagonist, who confronts major scepticism as they warm up to an impending, fairly inevitable change, acting out of intense love and fear of losing one another.

Undertone (Ian Tuason, 2025)

The season of horror is far from near, but as we all know, fans don’t really wait for a pumpkin invite when they crave any genre, as a matter of fact. So, in case you feel love stories aren’t your cup of tea, Undertone, currently streaming on Netflix, just might be. Directed by Ian Tuason in his directorial debut, the supernatural horror movie follows a woman named Evy, who co-hosts a paranormal podcast with her friend, Justin.

While Evy lives a really mundane, claustrophobic suburban life as the sole caregiver for her comatose mother, the podcast, which is her only source of coping mechanism, soon turns her life upside down when Justin receives an anonymous email comprising 10 terrifyingly cryptic audio files. Upon hearing the clips, the duo soon decipher that the files document recordings of a couple’s encounter with a demon who possesses pregnant women, causing miscarriages. Turns out, Evy is pregnant, as well!

23 000 Lives (Markus Goller, 2026)

Another gripping pick for your Sunday binge session is 23 000 Lives, a moving German drama inspired by the true story of Youth to the Rescue, AKA Jugend rettet. Directed by Markus Goller, the Netflix movie tells the story of a group of young, idealist activists from Berlin who came together, refusing to sit back and watch as countless people drown in the Mediterranean Sea in their attempts to reach Europe.

Despite lacking sailing and formal search-and-rescue experience, these inexperienced but determined Berliners launch a massive crowdfunding campaign to buy an old ship and set sail on the Mediterranean Sea. 23 000 Lives focuses on their rescue operations and multiple missions, subtly exploring the setbacks they face as their initial idealism is met with the harsh realities of each passing day, forcing them to make life-or-death choices daily.

Death on the Nile (Kenneth Branagh, 2022)

Based on Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel of the same name, Death on the Nile is a suspenseful mystery film that will hit home for all the at-home sleuths. The detective drama follows Hercule Poirot on a mesmerising Egyptian river cruise, when he runs into his friend and is soon invited to attend a high-profile honeymoon. The newlyweds are Linnet Ridgeway, a wealthy socialite, and Simon Doyle, who was engaged to Linnet’s best friend Jackie.

While that’s enough said to sniff the drama, according to Jackie, Linnet stole Simon away. So, angered and filled with vengeance, Jackie decides to stalk the newlyweds wherever they go, boarding the same river cruise as the honeymooners in Death on the Nile, until the unthinkable takes place when one evening Linnet is found dead in her bed with a gunshot wound to her head.

The Body in the Locker (Sean Cisterna, 2025)

Since Netflix subscribers have grown a soft corner for Lifetime thrillers, here’s one to wrap up your Sunday with: The Body in the Locker. The crime drama follows Amy Robertson, who becomes the CEO of her father’s charitable foundation following his death. But soon after the inheritance, she’s attacked by a masked intruder at her father’s mansion, who mysteriously drops a jewellery box with a USB drive and a storage locker key.

Puzzled and desperate to seek answers, Amy tracks the key to a local storage facility. Although that sounds shady in itself, she doesn’t stop. The Body in the Locker revolves around Amy’s pursuit of the truth, when the mysterious storage facility leads her to a wardrobe, containing a dead body wrapped in a plastic bag that the police suspect to have been there for three years, ultimately forcing her to go all out with her investigation as her close ones start acting suspiciously.
