Directed by Choi Jung Gyu and co-written by Seo Jae Won and Kwon So Ra, the upcoming K-drama tells the story of a courageous ghost slayer who secretly joins forces with a palace maid to break into the royal grounds and rid the palace of spirits and otherworldly entities.
The East Palace was shot between December 2024 and July 2025, and is currently in post-production.

What is the plot?
The East Palace is a forthcoming fantasy-horror K-drama about Gu-cheon, who can make his way across the world of ghosts, and Saeng-gang, a court lady with a secret, who team up upon being summoned by the King to uncover the secrets plaguing the cursed palace. Together, they embark on a mission to clear the palace of every ghostly intervention and supernatural obstacle, presenting a thrilling tale from the masters of the genre.
Who is in the cast?
As of now, three leads have been confirmed and revealed for The East of Palace. Nam Joo Hyuk, whose Netflix credits include Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Start-Up, and The School Nurse Flies, has been cast to portray Gu Cheon. Roh Yoon Seo, who has previously appeared on Netflix’s The Frog and Love Next Door, has been roped in to play Saeng Gang. Meanwhile, the Divorce Attorney Shin actor Cho Seung Woo stars as the King. He has also starred in Sisyphus: The Myth, Stranger, and Life on Netflix.
In addition to the three leads, Jang Young Nan is the only confirmed supporting cast member. However, her character details remain shrouded in mystery.
