The Croods is a movie perfect for a family movie night, with a star-studded cast including Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, and Emma Stone amongst others. This is a movie of wonder and adventure. When a caveman’s house is destroyed, they finally open up to the world once very alien to them. Grug and his family risk the hazards of their environment in order to find a new home.

4. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) 

During this bountiful blockbuster, Daisy recalls her friendship with Benjamin Button, who suffered from an unusual ageing condition that caused him to age backwards while resting in a hospital bed following Hurricane Katrina’s devastation. Directed by David Fincher, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a unique take on a romance drama. Starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, and many others.

3. Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Zack Snyder’s zombie classic Dawn of the Dead is coming soon in May. When people are hit with an epidemic that transforms afflicted people into flesh-eating zombies, things take a turn. Survivors quickly seek sanctuary in a shopping mall. In addition to fighting the undead, they must also deal with their internal issues.

Dawn of the Dead is headed to Netflix on May 1st, gear up for non-stop horror and action. 

2. The Mother (2023)

Jennifer Lopez’s newest movie is an action-packed release guaranteed to make everybody happy with their weekend watching. The Mother is directed by Niki Caro. While fleeing from threatening adversaries, an assassin, she emerges from concealment to protect her daughter, whom she abandoned earlier in life.

The world is excited for its debut on the streamer, dropping on May 12th. Especially after an action-fueled trailer, this movie should be on everyone’s watchlist for May. 

1. A Man Called Otto (2023)

The story begins with a happy and bright family moving into a new house. This is when they meet their grouchy and old neighbour, Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks) who is a widower. Soon he meets his neighbour friend Marisol (Mariana Treviño), who is a quick-witted pregnant woman. They soon become friends and the odd friendship takes a quick turn for the plot. Hang on to this fun comedy drama coming to the streamer on May 6th.  

A guaranteed charmer.
