The latest Ryan Reynolds Netflix film, The Adam Project released on Friday, March 11th, 2022. Directed by the Stranger Things producer, Shawn Levy, the film also starred Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer garner, Walker Scobell and Billy Bob Thronton.
The sci-fi time travel film saw Ryan Reynolds as the titular Adam who travels back in time to find his lost lover. He teams up with his younger self, portrayed by Scobell, and they share a goofy camaraderie where they constantly bicker with one another. Together, they travel further back in time to meet their now-dead father and seek answers.
In this “very personal story”, LEvy incorporated classic elements of sci-fi while adding a nostalgic 80s vibe to it. This has also drawn comparisons to films like Back to the Future. The Netflix film also boasts a brilliant soundtrack and various other catchy songs in the playlist that has now commanded the audience’s attention.

Who composed The Adam Project soundtrack?
The original composer for The Adam Project soundtrack is the talented musician, Rob Simonsen. He is known for having worked in various acclaimed films, including Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Disney’s Star Girl, Ben Affleck’s The Way Back and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.
Simonsen wanted to incorporate a “classic 80’s film score vibe” into the film that he described as “Ablim-esque”.
Shawn Levy has always “admired” Simonsen’s music and wanted to collaborate with him. He opened up about how they got together and created the original score for the film.
“Rob and I started off with a concept for the score, one that we felt would be largely electronic and subversive of expectations. The more we lived with the footage, however, the more we listened to our movie, which led to a revelation of what the score should be,” he told SlashFilm.
