The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: June 2026

Another week of Netflix US rankings looks almost identical to the global ones. If you put the two lists side by side, you’d probably spend more time trying to spot the differences than the similarities. Michael Jackson’s still pulling people in, and true crime has got viewers in a chokehold.

At number one, we have Michael Jackson: The Verdict, which just keeps doing what it’s been doing for weeks. But then again, is anyone shocked? Every time something connected to Michael Jackson comes out, people end up revisiting the same conversations all over again. The release of the Michael biopic has definitely helped, but the interest was already there.

We are talking about one of the biggest music stars who has ever lived. ‘Thriller’ is still the biggest-selling album of all time, and his influence is still all over music. People have spent decades discussing every part of his life, for crying out loud. Whether viewers are showing up for the music or the controversy, the end result is the same: they keep watching.

Just behind it is The Witness, which is Netflix viewers’ favourite genre: true crime. But what has helped this one rank almost to the top is that it doesn’t just tell you about the case and move on. It digs into the investigation and focuses on the decisions that were made. But most of all, it shows the fallout that followed. That’s usually where true-crime fans get hooked.

Then there is The Four Seasons season two, which is having a proper good week, or shall we say weeks, because it’s been there for two weeks now? One of the funniest things about this chart is the fact that the show appears twice. Season two is doing great on its own, but loads of people have also gone back to season one. That’s always a sign a show is doing well.

Next up is Instadocs: Alex Murdaugh, Unconvicted, and if we’re being honest, it’d have been more surprising if it hadn’t made the chart. The Alex Murdaugh story has been everywhere for years. Documentaries, podcasts, books, news reports… You couldn’t really avoid it. Netflix’s Instadocs format is designed to get these stories out while they are still hot, and this case was always going to pull viewers in.

Rounding out the top five is The Boroughs, which turned up with one massive advantage: the Duffer Brothers. As soon as people saw the names behind Stranger Things, curiosity was guaranteed. What’s interesting, though, is that The Boroughs isn’t trying to be another Stranger Things. Instead of focusing on teenagers, it centres on older characters, giving it a feel that’s completely its own.

Further down the rankings is AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Eddie Murphy, which is the only show in the list that’s not trending globally. It is for the viewers who might’ve forgotten just how much modern comedy owes to Eddie Murphy. The special celebrates a career that’s stretched across decades, with actors and comedians looking back at his impact on the industry.

Meanwhile, Nemesis keeps getting up and down. Although it has dropped significantly this week, it has also proved that not every hit needs a huge franchise behind it. Sometimes all it needs is word of mouth.

The last three entries don’t need much explaining. Raw: 2026 keeps benefiting from WWE’s move to Netflix, and wrestling fans keep turning up week after week. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is a new entry in the list and is still finding its audience. It is about the real-life lawman who’s often linked to stories that inspired the Lone Ranger legend. And finally, The Four Seasons season one ranks at number ten, showing that fans need to rewatch it before they begin the new season.
