The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: August 2026

Well, it looks like American Netflix viewers have reached a consensus this week. The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare has won not just the global but the US charts as well, which is clear proof that the country’s appetite for true crime clearly hasn’t cooled off yet.

Directors Skye Borgman and Joe Berlinger have both spent years working in true crime, but their approach to The Idaho Murders was different from the usual. It was not allowing the convict Bryan Kohberger to swallow the story whole.

Next, we have My Life With the Walter Boys, season three, at number two. But not for Jackie, because life has found room for even more people. Chad Rook, Naveen Paddock, and Erin Karpluk are among the newcomers this season. For anyone who thought that the Walter family was too crowded, where are you now?

Matching the global chart, The Bombing of Pan Am 103 takes third place, with Connor Swindells taking charge of the limited series alongside Patrick J Adams and Merritt Wever. It’s like deja vu all over again.

Raw takes fourth place after its latest post-SummerSlam episode, which had Jacob Fatu choking Royce Keys out in a Street Fight and continuing the attack after the bell. Je’Von Evans also beat Ethan Page, while Big Cass returned and immediately went after Evans. It was a madhouse.

At number five is Best Medicine, which has surprisingly made a huge jump, given that it only made its debut on August 4th.

Further down, Ransom Canyon season two settles into sixth, while Ms Rachel takes seventh and continues one of the most dependable runs in the US Top 10. Netflix comedy The Hawk follows at number eight. Huh, what a sudden change of pace!

I Will Find You has finally slipped and is now hanging at number nine, while Danny Go! rounds things out in tenth place. This shows that while true crime may own the top of the US chart this week, American households have left plenty of room for kids’ TV.
