The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: April 2026

Have a look at what’s trending on Netflix US this week, and you’ll notice that it’s a pure genre roller coaster. One minute you are getting serious, and the next you know, you are laughing at Kate Hudson. And by that we mean that while Chosen is a tense drama about life inside a closed community, just behind it is Running Point season two, a sports comedy with a tone quite opposite.

Starting with Unchosen, the heavy one sat right at the top. It’s dead serious stuff. Molly Windsor’s Rosie is a young mother stuck in this tight religious cult where everything is controlled, with no room to even think for yourself. Things start going a bit sideways when she meets Sam (Fra Fee), who pulls her daughter Grace out of the water as he saves her life, and from there it all starts getting complicated. Asa Butterfield’s Adam, her husband, and before you know it, the whole thing turns grim quick. We see Rosie dealing with abuse and then getting involved with someone who is clearly hiding his own dodgy past. But it’s ranking at the top not just in the US but on Netflix globally too, so mind you, it’s unskippable.

Then you’ve got Running Point season two, which is a lot lighter but still full of people making life harder for themselves for absolutely no reason, which, let’s be fair, is half of TV anyway. Kate Hudson is back as Isla Gordon, running the LA Waves, trying to prove she knows what she is doing while her family shows zero faith. A nice little touch this season is that one episode is dedicated to Niko Mijailovic, a young athlete who passed in 2025, which catches you off guard in a good way.

BEEF season two, though: back to people being absolute nightmares. No road rage this time. It’s all a posh setting. You have those country club types with too much money and not enough sense. Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan are Joshua and Lindsay, and then you’ve got Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton as Ashley and Austin. They are dragged into all sorts of things, like blackmail, favours, and climbing over each other to get ahead. It’s still the same idea: they just keep digging.

Then WWE Raw is there as usual, and there is no messing about. This one’s the episode after WrestleMania. Roman Reigns came out as the new World Heavyweight Champion after beating CM Punk, but that didn’t last long as Jacob Fatu came forward and made it clear he is coming for the title.

Hulk Hogan: Real American on number five is a totally different vibe. That’s all about Terry Bollea, the fella behind Hulk Hogan, and no, it is not just about his glory days either. You get to hear about everything from fame to injuries to all the scandals. Even his divorce and mental health stuff are talked about. The series uses his final interview as well, which makes it more realistic. Brooke Hogan not being involved has got people chatting, too, so clearly there’s more to that story than what’s on screen.

Then Funny AF with Kevin Hart, another sensation on Netflix, is donning the number six position. Hart’s basically going round looking for the next big stand-up, checking out comedians in clubs, with judges like Chelsea Handler, Keegan-Michael Key and Kumail Nanjiani. After all the heavy dramas and people shouting at each other, watching comics graft for a Netflix special actually feels a bit better.

Further down, Trust Me: The False Prophet is keeping the true-crime fans happy. Million Dollar Secret season two is back with all that sneaky game-playing and, surprisingly enough, Danny Go! is still in the top 10 chart. At last, rounding up the list, we have Salish & Jordan Matter bringing influencer energy to Netflix.
