The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: September 2026

A fresh Netflix chart can tell you a lot about what people are in the mood for, and right now viewers seem to have one foot in crime drama while the other is wandering off toward true crime or teen romance. But then you see two seasons of The Gentlemen appear in the top three and, well, that pretty much settles who is hogging the attention.

The Gentlemen season two brings Eddie Horniman back into business with Susie Glass, except the operation now reaches beyond Halstead Manor and into Italy, where every move creates another headache for Eddie to deal with. Come on, he wanted more control over the empire, but the empire clearly did not get the memo.

Death of the Pastor’s Wife has finally slipped off the first position but is still taking you somewhere far darker, revisiting the death of South Carolina worship leader Mica Miller while looking at her marriage to pastor John-Paul “JP” Miller. The three-part docuseries looks at the allegations of abuse connected to the relationship, and, yeesh, you will need your full attention for this one.

Then The Gentlemen season one pops back into the picture because viewers are heading back to Eddie’s first run-in with the marijuana operation beneath his family estate. Fair enough, because season one throws him into criminal politics before he has much time to understand the rules, and that makes a refresher pretty useful before watching the second one.

And then you have Crew Girl, where Teagan is just trying to find her footing at a new school when she ends up as coxswain for the boys’ rowing team. That does not sound bad until you know she is the only girl between them.

Instadocs: The Decoy Plane is next on the list, and this shocking short documentary looks at an incident involving President Donald Trump and Air Force One, including an aircraft transfer that the travelling press corps missed at first, which raises the obvious question: how on earth did nobody catch that right away?

The rest of the Netflix chart speaks a totally different language than the first half, with Beauty in Black season three keeping Tyler Perry’s drama in play while Raw: 2026 brings WWE fans along for the ride. Earle Meets World follows Alix Earle, Danny Go! season two gives younger viewers their pick, and Outer Banks season five sends the Pogues back into trouble because, of course, those kids were never going to have a normal week.
