The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: October 2026
A man battling a sea monster has outdone Mike Tyson this week, which is a sentence some of us never thought we’d hear, but October’s Netflix series chart has made it possible.
Below has yet again secured the top spot with 21.2 million views, a record single-week total for a Canadian Netflix original. Josh Hartnett’s fisherman is having an absolute mare with something lurking off Newfoundland, the place where he lives. If you’ve been craving some sea monster horror lately, this is the best Netflix has to offer at the moment.
Three weeks after, Florence Pugh’s East of Eden is still lurking near the top, and it’s special this time because Zoe Kazan, who adapted Steinbeck’s novel, is the granddaughter of the director behind the 1955 James Dean film.
Instadocs: AI Gone Wild has come in third, digging into the Hugging Face cyberattack involving AI agents. The company’s boss has accused the documentary of exaggerating the danger, which makes for awkward publicity… but hey, as they say, there’s no such thing as bad PR.
TYSON has punched its way onto the chart with 5.1 million views. One fact: director Floyd Russ spent months interviewing the former champion about his life. At one point they even tried a toad-derived psychedelic together, which might sound a little too much, but when has Netflix given us anything without a crazy bit of backstory?
Keri Russell’s back in The Diplomat, where Kate Wyler is left sorting out the fallout from people with far too much power, and season four has drawn 4.8 million views. The show might be on number five right now but is very likely to take the crown next week as more people catch up on it.
Further down, Boston’s hopeful romantics have returned in Love Is Blind, with Spike following behind. Is It Cake? Halloween is back to make us distrust baked goods, Haunted Hotel has reopened for more ghostly carry-on, and the October 12th episode of Raw rounds things off. Quite the peculiar week of TV… what are you watching?
