Another week passes, and another changing of the tides arrives on Netflix‘s most popular chart. While we might collectively be shifting gears into soup season, there is another festivity on the horizon: Halloween.
The event is a unique one as it is heavily leaned on by the entertainment lovers of the world as an opportunity to devour as many horror movies and series as possible. This week, though, things are far removed from the scarier side of the screen. In fact, it only gets as scary as Castlevania: Nocturne.
Taking the number one spot this week is the behemoth BECKHAM docuseries, which explores the life and times of former footballer and cultural icon David Beckham. Picking up an astonishing 58.8 million hours of viewing it is the most-watched series of the week in its first week of airing.
Following up shortly behind is the fourth and final season of Sex Education. Enjoying its third week on the charts, it has a healthy 53.8m hours of viewing to attest to its potency as a series.
There are two more notable series which are hanging around. Perhaps Netflix’s only successful anime live-action adaptation, One Piece, is still in the charts with 18.8m hours of viewing, while Virgin River‘s fifth season is also hanging around.
The only other new entry this week is a rather pallid attempt to keep up with the baking trend the end of the year always offers, with The Great British Baking Show — the direct competitor for The Great British Bake-Off.
