May is proving to be a seismic month for Netflix, as the streaming platform has delivered hit after hit. What was predicted to be the biggest hit of the month may have been XO Kitty, however, the series has failed to reach the top spot of this week’s most popular chart.
If you were hoping for a brand new series to be dominating the chart, we’re afraid you will be disappointed as it is still the Bridgerton-adjacent series Queen Charlotte which has regained its throne and taken the top spot. It has done so with another 82million hours of watching.
Many had assumed that XO Kitty would become the streaming platform’s biggest hit of the month. However, it appears that the excitement hasn’t quite matched up to the story of Queen Charlotte, unable to topple the royal tale amassing only 72million hours of viewing in its first week in the most popular chart.
Only two other new entries are in this week’s most popular chart. First up is Selling Sunset‘s season six, which is delightfully tacky in every way and delivers 22m hours of viewing pleasure. Secondly, there is the sports documentary series McGregor Forever, which follows UFC icon Conor McGregor during a particularly difficult moment in his career, which picked up 21m hours of viewing.
Elsewhere, the story is largely a Bridgerton one. Not only is Queen Charlotte at the top of the charts but season one and two are enjoying their eighth and 13th weeks on the chart, respectively.
he night Agent, a no-holds-barred thriller starring Gabriel Basso, is also still on the chart, enjoying its ninth week there. It deserves a second viewing if you are hoping for a break from all the period dramas.
