The 10 most popular movies on Netflix US this week: June 2026

The most popular movies on Netflix globally have a unique way of aligning with regional trends. But for a much-needed change of air, all we can spot are the trends that set Americans apart this week.

During the week of June 7th to June 14th, the international most popular movies chart crowned Jennifer Lopez’s sizzling new romantic comedy for a second consecutive week. However, US fans toppled it from the top spot in just a week, giving the throne to a chilling true-crime movie instead.

That’s right! In the week ending June 14th, Jessica Dimmock’s Maternal Instinct rose through the ranks in the US after earning a whopping 15million views in its debut week. Although the shocking true-crime movie is ranked second on the most popular movies chart internationally, it is throned at the top in the US, right above the global chart-topper.

Ranked second on the most popular movies chart this week is the global flagbearer, Office Romance, quietly turning up the heat amidst the sweltering steam of mid-summer June. While the romantic comedy earned over 24million views, refusing to let go of the top spot for a second week on the global charts despite losing out in the US, it is currently ranked number one in 66 countries.

Up next on the most popular movies chart is the Pierce Brosnan Southern noir thriller, Fast Charlie, making waves regionally and internationally on Netflix. Although not a Netflix original, the 2023 blockbuster is one of the top five titles trending both in the US and globally. Meanwhile, succeeding the action thriller is a George Clooney-led romantic comedy, Ticket to Paradise, starring Julia Roberts.

Rounding out the top five titles on the most popular movies chart in the US is an animated blast from the past, Bee Movie, which was recently added to Netflix shelves earlier this month. Unsurprisingly, following it closely on the US chart is yet another animated gem, the sports comedy starring Caleb McLaughlin, Goat. While the animation frenzy is currently at its peak globally, in the US, the craze is restricted to this.

Next in the lineup is the recently released second entry of the hit Polish crime thriller, Colors of Evil: Black, followed by an equally gritty Spanish thriller, The Marked Woman.

On the ninth, we have yet another true-crime film, The Murder of Rachel Nickell, which was released as a documentary counterpart of the three-episode limited series, The Witness. Meanwhile, on number ten, we have a comedic gem from the early 2000s, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. And with that, it’s officially a wrap for the week.
