The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: October 2026
A starship seems to have permanently anchored itself on Netflix’s most popular movies chart this October, and there’s little reason to complain when everyone’s on the same boat.
During the week of October 19th to October 25th, Ben Affleck’s gritty crime thriller Animals topped the most popular movies chart with 10.7million views, and like the week before, it won’t be dethroned anytime soon.
As of now, the kidnapping thriller is the number-one movie in 15 countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, and Slovenia, among others.
Ranked second on this week’s most popular movies chart is Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Attack of the T-Rex with 5.9 million views. The 2026 animated special is currently making waves on Netflix as one of the top 10 trendsetters in a whopping 49 countries.
Thanks to Lupin, heist thrillers are officially back in the spotlight. If you have a hard time believing it, you must have missed Armored on Netflix’s most popular movies chart this week. The 2009 action-thriller amassed 4.2million views, marking its debut on the coveted streaming chart, and also became the number-one movie in three countries: the Bahamas, Cyprus, and Morocco.
Since the Ice Age movies already made a comeback on Netflix’s most popular movies chart last week, it’s no surprise that Ice Age 5: Collision Course and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs are fourth and fifth with 3.5million views and 3.3million views, respectively. But if you think that’s it, hold on to your lattes!
Up next on Netflix’s most popular movies chart is the 2022 action crime-thriller Blackout with 3.2million views. Meanwhile, following closely at seventh is the 2025 natural horror film Primate with 3million views. Directed by Johannes Roberts, it is currently the number-one film in four countries: the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Peru, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Next is the Netflix Original movie Tyler Perry’s Doing Life, with 3million views. The 2026 urban drama is ranked eighth on this week’s most popular movies chart. Succeeding the touching story is the epic historical drama Gladiator II at number nine, also with 3million views.
The final entry, as we said, the wait will be worth it, is Ice Age with 2.8million views. The 2022 animated fantasy-adventure movie remains in the top 10 titles in four countries this week. And with that, it’s officially a wrap!
