From family-friendly animations to heart-pounding action, this week’s top ten films on Netflix offer a variety that caters to all movie enthusiasts as usual.
Topping the charts this week is The Out-Laws, the ‘meet the parents’ romcom meets heist comedy that has managed to secure its position in the list for two consecutive weeks. With a staggering 46.3million hours viewed and counting, this Netflix original may be inane but the perfect mindless watch after a long day.
Climbing up to the second spot is 65, the dinosaur flick starring Adam Driver. It has captured the imaginations of over 10.5million watch hours in just one week.
Feline fans will delight in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, the animated adventure that secures the third spot. With 9.4million views in just a single week, this charming tale of the suave cat with a swashbuckling spirit has won the hearts of both kids and adults. But of course, nothing beats the staying power of Sing or even Paw Patrol: The Movie. The animated films have stuck around on the global top ten chart for nine and seven weeks consecutively.
Netflix action extravaganza Extraction 2 is still riding high with Chris Hemsworth at the helm, claiming the fourth spot with over 10.8million hours viewed. This two-hour and four-minute spectacle full of heart-stopping action sequences has left audiences wanting more. And a third part is already on the way.
Nimona, an animated fantasy film, continues to charm audiences, coming in fifth with 8 million views. The feature presents a whimsical tale of a shapeshifter and her unlikely alliance with a villain.
The Tutor makes its debut at number seven, drawing in 5million views in its first week. The terribly low-rated drama stars Garrett Hedlund, Victoria Justice, and Stranger Things alum Noah Schnapp, and the blurb for the film reads: Assigned an unexpected task at a mansion, a tutor finds himself becoming the obsession of his student, who threatens to expose his darkest secrets.
Unfolding a tale of crime in comic hues, Mafia Mamma, starring Toni Collette, takes the ninth spot, attracting 4.7million viewers. In Mafia Mamma, a reserved suburban mother inherits her Italian mafia empire. As she navigates a mob war, her unexpected actions become a source of humorous surprises.
Unknown: Killer Robots rounds off the top 10 list with 3.2million hours viewed in its first week. A terrifying peak into the military’s use of AI to create weapons and the catastrophic consequences it could have has intrigued viewers all over.
