The 10 most popular films on Netflix this week: December 2023

The week of December 4th to 10th has churned out a new line-up of films that have raced past other contenders to feature on the Netflix global top ten list.

To no one’s surprise, topping the charts at number one is Leave the World Behind. The Sam Esmail doomsday thriller builds tension masterfully with Easter eggs hidden throughout the film. With a runtime of 142 minutes, this film has accumulated a staggering 98.7million hours viewed in its debut week.

Following closely behind is Family Switch, which is maintaining its strong presence in the top 10 for the second consecutive week. The holiday-themed body-swap comedy has left some feeling the ick for one particular scene but seems to be endearing to most for its mindless jolliness.

Adam Sandler’s animated flick Leo claims the third spot this week after enjoying two weeks in the top spot. There’s another animated spectacle in the top five of the list. The Super Mario Bros. Movie has secured the fourth position, enchanting audiences with its colourful characters and nostalgic appeal.

Catering Christmas, Christmas as Usual, and B&B Merry are the Christmas tales raking in the numbers on Netflix this week.

The action-packed Nobody, starring Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, has swooped in at the sixth position. Joining the action-packed fare are The Fast and the Furious and The Fate of the Furious.
