As we head towards summer, Netflix is gearing up for its new roster of fun films to fill the school holidays. So, in order to kick things off, they’ve returned to an old favourite.
Murder Mystery 2 is the movie making all the early running this summer. Enjoying its second week in the top ten, it still sits top of the charts with almost 60million viewing hours amassed this week.
The success of the second film in the seeming franchise has also bumped up the numbers for the first instalment with Murder Mystery in third place with 22million viewing hours. No doubt talks for further films are already underway.
Sandwiched between the two holiday hijinks, is Chupa. The film stars Christian Slater in the tale of a teenager who travels with his family to Mexico only to find a mythical Chupacabra creature hiding in a shed. Coinciding with the Easter holidays, this new entry is child-friendly fun.
Elsewhere, the list is scattered with old classics with the exceptions of new entries, Home, and Luther: The Fallen Sun. The latter is enjoying its fifth week in the top ten, although it has now slid down to only 7.5million viewing hours, hinting that its days in the chart are coming to an end.
With the likes of The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die arriving in the coming days alongside Weathering, there is bound to be a bit of a shake-up heading for the list.
