Sonic The Hedgehog fans were delighted when Netflix announced a partnership with Sega of America and WildBrain last year on the 30th anniversary of the iconic video game. The streamer has now released a trailer to give a look at the upcoming series, Sonic Prime.
A new teaser video has been released that features snippets from various upcoming animation films and series. From The Cuphead Show to Green Eggs and Ham and Sharkdog, Daniel Spellbound etc., the video also features a little clip from Sonic Prime after 01:49.
The spiked blue character collects his holden rings and says, “I know what you’re thinking – I’m goooood. And powerful, apparently. Jealous?!”
The new series will have 24 episodes and promises “a high octane adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse rests in his gloved hands.”
Netflix’s John Derderian spoke up about how iconic characters would be coming to the streamer soon. He said, “Whether it is the thrill of dinosaurs chasing you in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, laughter with familiar friends from Boss Baby, or the breath-taking adventures of upcoming series Sonic Prime, Daniel Spellbound and My Dad the Bounty Hunter, Netflix is the home of your favourite characters.”
Although Netflix has not yet declared a confirmed release date for Sonic Prime, Netflix has assured fans that the series is “coming soon.”
