Rupert Grint joins Gullermo Del Toro’s Netflix anthology series

Rupert Grint has reportedly jumped on board Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities, which is set to be a star-studded affair as a lot of acclaimed storytellers, filmmakers and actors have been roped in.

We are all familiar with Grint for having played the iconic red-haired Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, a role that catapulted a young Grint to superstardom.

He will be joining a huge ensemble cast that comprises Andrew Lincoln, Ben Barnes, Essie Davis, Luke Roberts, F. Murray Graham, Peter Weller, Glynn Turman, Tim Blake Nelson and more.

Initially, Cabinet of Curiosities was previously known as Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight

The horror anthology series will reportedly contain “a collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror”. They also promise to teem elements from “macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy”.

With eight tales, including two original works from the legendary Pan’s Labyrinth and Shape of Water director del Toro, the anthology series is helmed by creators who have been handpicked by the maestro.

Del Toro has always wanted to cast Grint in one of his projects ever since he saw him on Servant on Apple TV. The director has always pointed out how much he adored Grint on the series who, according to him, was the highlight of the show.

Servant has recently wrapped up production for its upcoming third season and is Apple’s most popular series.

Grunt will also be seen in the legendary Harry Potter reunion on HBO Max on January 1, 2021. The reunion has been titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. Fans are pretty excited to see their favourite characters regroup one last time.
