‘Nobody Wants This’ adds two new comedy stars, including a fresh Emmy winner

The hit Netflix rom-com Nobody Wants This is coming back this fall, and season two isn’t just about Joanne and Noah’s unlikely love story anymore. The new season is bringing in some major celebrities to the show, and they’re a delight.

Two guest stars whose names you’ll definitely recognise. And here’s the best part: one of them just picked up an Emmy a few weeks ago.

Let’s back up for a second. When Nobody Wants This first dropped, it captivated audiences with Kristen Bell as Joanne, who is a blunt, agnostic podcaster. And then we had Adam Brody as Noah, the sweet rabbi who somehow matched her energy.

Season one was all about how opposites attract, and it became one of Netflix’s standout rom-com hits. Now, with season two arriving on October 23rd, the show is taking its relationship deeper. But it is also shaking things up with some scene-stealing guest appearances.

So who are these mysterious new faces? None other than Seth Rogen and Kate Berlant. Rogen, fresh off a record-breaking Emmy sweep for his series The Studio (13 wins in one night), is stepping into the rom-com world here. The makers are pairing him with Berlant. In case you don’t know who she is, she is a sharp comic voice you have seen in Don’t Worry, Darling and Duck Butter. She is the kind of casting flex that promises big laughs.

The core cast is back too, with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody leading the way, alongside Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons as their wayward siblings. Guest stars this season also include Leighton Meester, Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, and Arian Moayed. Creator Erin Foster has been open about how lucky the team feels with its casting. She is not wrong, as first you land the perfect leads and now score guest stars that make the writing “better by default”.

Season two will continue exploring Joanne and Noah’s relationship because falling in love is one thing, but staying in love? That’s where the real comedy lives. Expect the same offbeat mix of heart, banter, and awkward family dynamics that made season one so bingeable.
