The Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron comedy climbing the Netflix charts

Long Shot, a 2019 American romantic comedy directed by Jonathan Levine, has been steadily climbing the Netflix US as well as global charts.

This Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron starrer has managed to secure the second spot on the US top ten list and the fifth one in the global English charts, attracting a whopping 8.8million views in the previous week alone.

Long Shot boasts an impressive lineup of talent both in front of and behind the camera. Directed by Levine and written by Dan Sterling and Liz Hannah, this comedy gem brings together the unlikely duo of Rogen and Theron as its leading stars.

The film also features a supporting cast that includes O’Shea Jackson Jr., Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, Bob Odenkirk, and Alexander Skarsgård. The chemistry between Rogen and Theron is the driving force behind the film’s success, and the supporting cast just adds to it.

The film’s plot revolves around Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen), a talented but somewhat reckless journalist with a penchant for trouble. His life takes an unexpected turn when he reunites with Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron), his former babysitter and now the United States Secretary of State. Charlotte is a poised and influential figure on the global stage, and their worlds couldn’t be more different. When Charlotte decides to run for President, she hires Fred as her speechwriter, setting the stage for a hilarious, unpredictable, and heartwarming journey. The film explores themes of love, politics, and the power of authenticity, all while delivering laughs and genuine charm.

Long Shot has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Rotten Tomatoes awarded it an 81 per cent approval rating, with the website’s critical consensus praising its sharp humour and the captivating chemistry between its leads.

In a world full of generic romantic comedies, Long Shot stands out as a testament to the power of laughter and the magic of love, even in the most unlikely circumstances. Whether you’re a fan of Rogen’s signature sense of humour, Theron’s powerhouse charm, or just a lover of well-crafted comedies, this film is definitely worth a watch.
