Nicole Kidman joins Zac Efron in new Netflix rom-com

Nicole Kidman has joined the cast for an upcoming Netflix romantic comedy film which also stars Zac Efron and Joey King.

Directed by Richard LaGravenese, the yet-to-be-titled rom-com will see a young woman, her mother and her film boss get involved in comedic romantic complications and triangles which involve sex, love and identity issues.

LaGravenese is popular for his screenwriting credits in films like The Bridges of Madison County, The Fisher King and Behind the Candelabra. The script for the upcoming rom-com will also be written by Carrie Solomon, the woman behind Margot Robbie-starring Ocean 11 prequel at Warner Bros.

The film will reportedly begin filming towards the end of Summer in Atlanta.

Kidman’s role in the comedy will be a breath of fresh air after the heavily dramatized roles she has played recently, including Being the Ricardos, The Undoing and The Northman. She was recently nominated for an Oscar for her brilliant performance as Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos

Joey King became a Netflix sensation after her breakout role in the teen romantic trilogy The Kissing Booth franchise, alongside Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi. She will soon be seen in the Hulu action film, The Princess, and another action film titled Bullet Train. Helmed by David Leitch and also starring Brad Pitt, Bullet Train is slated for an August 5th, 2022, release.

Efron has recently wrapped production of Peter Farrelly’s The Greatest Beer Run Ever and is known for the wide array of characters he has played over the years.

Stay tuned for more updates on the film.
