New actors join Adam Sandler in Netflix’s ‘Murder Mystery 2’

Months back, Netflix had announced the renewal of the hilarious thriller Murder Mystery, starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. Directed by Jeremy Garelick, the film saw the duo as a dysfunctional couple who gets framed for murder after boarding a billionaire’s yacht.

Netflix has recently added more actors to be cast in the sequel, namely Mark Strong, Jodie Turner-Smith, Tony Goldwyn, Kuhoo Verma, Melanie Laurent, Zurin Villanueva, Enrique Arce and Annie Mumolo.

Strong was recently seen in Disney+’s Cruella while Turner-Smith made an appearance in Queen & Slim. Laurent is known for her roles in Inglourious Bastards and 6 Underground. Netflix viewers may recognise Arce from his role in the popular Netflix series Money Heist

Both Aniston and Sandler are set to make a return, presumably in their previous roles of Audrey and Nick. They will be joined by Adeel Akhtar as The Maharajah and John Kani as Colonel Ulenga.

Murder Mystery had one of the biggest opening weekends on Netflix since its debut in 2019.

Known for his other comedy flicks, including the Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn 2006 film The Break-Up as well as The Wedding Ringer, starring Josh Gad and Kevin Hart, Garelick is set to direct the sequel.

He will be joined by James Vanderbilt as a screenwriter who had also written the script for the prequel. While not much has been revealed about the upcoming film, filming is scheduled to take place in the Caribbean and Paris.
