Netflix’s upcoming rom-com film Love in the Villa will star actors from The Umbrella Academy and The Vampire Diaries. Tom Hopper and Kat Graham have reportedly signed the deal.
Hopper, who was known as the dysfunctional Luther Hargreeves in the Netflix superhero show, will now let go of family issues and see himself immersed in a romantic adventure alongside Graham.
Directed and written by Mark Steven Johnson, known for Ghost Rider, the film will most likely release in 2022. It will see Graham’s character take a trip to Verona in Italy post-break-up that turns into a romantic getaway.
At the villa, she will face some initial trouble due to a mismanaged double-booking that compels her to share her room with a “cynical” and handsome British stranger.
The director has spoken up about how we are in dire need of “love and laughter” as we are all “divided”. He hopes to spread love and happiness via his film.
“But in the end, everyone wants the same thing – to love and to be loved. That’s what movies like Love in the Villa are about,” he said.
Hopper will soon be seen in the third season of The Umbrella Academy that is currently in production.
