Netflix unveils official teaser for 'Bridgerton' season 2

Netflix raised fan anticipation and turned up the heat by releasing the official teaser for the upcoming second season of the global sensation, fan-favourite series, Bridgerton

Created in collaboration between Chris Van Dusen and Shonda Rhimes, the series is based on Julia Quinn’s novels and chronicles the Regency-era of London by pandering to the lives of the upper echelons of the aristocracy, their opulent and grandiose lifestyle and manners.

After a brilliant first season that focused on the romantic escapades of the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne, with the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett, the second season will focus on the womanising, eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony and his romantic tension and conflict with Kate Sharma.

In the minute-long teaser, there are hints of steamy romance between the duo where Anthony is seen immersed in a hot bath while Kate fans herself. Lady Whistledown, the anonymous know-it-all and official snitch, is seen talking about how she is sharpening her knives to bring in more exclusive and juicy gossip about the lot.

Penelope, aka Nicola Coughlin, is seen smirking as she pens down the words, continuing the first season’s shocking reveal regarding her being the real Lady Whistledown.

The reprising cast includes Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Adjoa Andoh, Phoebe Dynevor, Lorraine Ashbourne, Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, Ruth Gemmell, Martins Imhangbe, Florence Hunt, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, Golda Rosheuvel, Polly Walker, Will Tilston and Julie Andrews.

They will be joined by a new cast comprising Simone Ashley, Charothra Chandran, Shelley Conn, Rupert Young and Calam Lynch. Read here to find out more about the siblings from season one.

The Emmy-nominated show is set to premiere its second season on Netflix on March 25th, 2022.
