Netflix steps up with party games for the TV, and here’s everything you should know
The upcoming holiday season gatherings with Netflix are about to get even more interesting with the platform finally rolling out a slew of party games to count on.
Netflix completely understands the debates and delirium of finding activities that everyone can be equally invested in without losing the fun factor. So, Netflix Party Games are here to save the day, and participation is a must.
If you have a Netflix subscription, you’re already halfway there. But do call in your friends and family just in time because the Netflix gaming hub is craving for attention with classics like LEGO Party!, Boggle Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, and much more.
So, for those interested in making the most of their Netflix subscriptions, here’s the entire list of games and what you should know about them.
Boggle Party
Players 1-8
Everyone has played Boggle in their childhood, and Netflix’s Boggle Party allows up to eight players to participate in the timeless word search game. Players are required to find words in a grid of randomly placed letters, which can be swiped to create a word. The TV will serve as the scoreboard, keeping count of every player’s scores while simultaneously displaying the found words on the screen. Players with the most unique words or those who manage to create words with the most letters win the game. Solo players can also play Boggle Party on Netflix.
LEGO Party!
Players 1-4
LEGO Party! is packed with 60 mini-games of different kinds that can easily put your friendships to the test. For instance, in the Mario Party games, players must find their way out on a game board while collecting as many golden bricks as possible. They can achieve their goal in multiple ways, by sword-throwing, matching minifig heads, and playing short-order cook.
Players can also customise playlists in Minigame Rush and other mini-games. Plus, the more experience points they gather, the more they can alter their minifig’s appearances. LEGO Party! also allows players to pick and choose pieces from classic LEGO sets like LEGO Pirates, LEGO Space, and LEGO NINJAGO.
Pictionary: Game Night
Players 2-10
Pictionary: Game Night calls for a family game night, which requires the ultimate showcase of everyone’s artistic skills. Players are required to deduce the doodles of their friends and family before the time runs out, as one of them sketches in the spotlight and others are left to guess.
The artist draws the doodles on their phone, which are then shown on the big screen in real time. When someone hits the bullseye, both the player and the artist earn points. However, the faster one can guess, the more points they get. Whoever earns the most points after three deciding rounds wins the game.
Tetris Time Warp
Players 1-4
Tetris Time Warp on Netflix is all about, well, Tetris. However, this version comes with a special twist on the iconic game. Each and every time a player unclogs lines of tetrominoes, which are somewhat retro, they’re warped back to the historic editions of Tetris for a bonus round. The time warps have their own rules. For instance, some are devoid of “hard drop” while others might restrict tetromino rotation. In order to find their way back to the modern era, players must clear the obstacles.
Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends
Players 3-6
Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends is rooted in bluffing your friends, where the only goal is to identify the party crasher correctly. It’s not a game for solo players. It requires three to six players. Everyone, except for one, will know a secret word in a round, and the invitees give out hints to explain that word. The hints are supposed to be understandable to everyone except the one who doesn’t know it in the first place, which is the party crasher.
Players should type the hints on their phones, and the big screen displays everyone’s scores. Once the hints are submitted, everyone has to vote on the hint that feels a little or completely out of place. The game can carry on between two and five rounds.
