Netflix shares trailer for new season of 'That '90s Show'

Netflix has released the first trailer for the brand new season of That ’90s Show. The highly-anticipated second season will be split into two parts and is expected to drop eight episodes on June 27th and another eight on October 24th.

As the title suggests, That ‘90s Show is a sequel to That ‘70s Show. In it, 15 years have passed, and the year is 1995. The basic plot follows Eric and Donna’s daughter, who is portrayed by Callie Haverda. She goes to visit her grandparents for the summer and, in doing so, stumbles upon a brand new friendship group in Point Place.

That ‘90s Show has an exciting, star-studded cast which includes Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos, who all make appearances as Gwen, Jay, Nate, Ozzie and Nikki, respectively.

Many of the original cast will be reprising their roles, as Debra Jo Rupp and Jurtwood Smith are returning to fill the shoes of Kitty and Red Forman. Some of the original series stars who came back for the first season of That ‘90s Show include the likes of Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Don Stark and Tommy Chong; however, they aren’t guaranteed to return for this second series.

Kunis had previously revealed that she and Kutcher will not be making an appearance. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said, “We did our thing, and they introduced our son in the show.”

The trailer shows that Seth Green will be starring in the series. Details surrounding how Green’s character will play into the plot are unknown, but it’s exciting to see him back, given he had a recurring part in the original series.

Showrunners are hoping That ‘90s Show can mimic the success of the original series, which ran for eight seasons in total and comprised 200 episodes.
