Netflix shares 'Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft' anime series preview

Netflix has shared a first look at the upcoming Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft anime series, set to drop on the streaming site in 2024.

The preview gives fans a first look at the adventures that will unfold in the new series, showing the popular archeologist in the middle of combat.

The sneak peak debuted as part of Netflix’s DROP 01 event, which showcases the platform’s most highly-anticipated anime projects.

The series, created by Netflix in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment, was first confirmed in January 2021, and is set after set after Crystal Dynamics’ video game reboot trilogy.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft boasts The Witcher: Blood Origin‘s Tasha Huo as its writer and executive producer, with Agent Carter‘s Haley Atwell voicing the esteemed protagonist.

The series will remain loyal to the original video game, continuing and extending on narratives introduced in the reboot trilogy.

This is not the first video game-to-anime adaptation for Netflix. The streaming site has also adapted various shows and films, including live-action ones, such as The Witcher, Castlevania, Detention, and more. 

Netflix also recently announced adaptations of Assassin’s Creed, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside the more anticipated Pokemon adaptation.
