Netflix shares the first look at 'Lucifer' animated episode

Netflix has a very promising line-up this September, and fans are already pretty excited to watch their all-time favourite British series Lucifer coming to an end. Recently, Netflix released the first-look images from the upcoming animated episode on the show.

Lucifer was a Netflix original series that focused on Lucifer Morningstar, the Prince of Hell, relocating to Los Angeles from Hell to deal with his boredom. He becomes the owner of a swanky nightclub named Lux, helps the LAPD solve murder mysteries, develops a romance with Chloe and battles out otherworldly adversaries who threaten to disrupt his peace.

Having garnered a massive fan following, especially due to the show’s lead, Tom Ellis’ suave charm and cocky demeanour, the show is finally coming to an end. The fifth season ended with Lucifer taking over his father’s position as God.

The 10-episode sixth season will most likely be a happily-ever-after version that abounds in the quintessential rendezvous, debauchery, madness, chaos and mayhem that ensues whenever Lucifer is in the hood. Although not too much has been revealed about the season, Netflix has released the first-look mages of the animated episode.

Titled ‘Yabba Dabba Do Me’, the episode features Tom Ellis and Lauren German as Lucifer and Detective Chloe Decker in their animated avatar.

According to the executive producer Joe Henderson, an animated episode was on the cards for quite some time. During the coronavirus pandemic that stalled shooting, they managed to make their vision come true. He described the style as a conglomeration of Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera.

The episode was made in collaboration with Jennifer Coyle and her team, the supervising producer on Harley Quinn. It is supposed to fit in with the narrative.

Henderson praised Coyle and her team by saying, “We gave them our instincts, and they just flew”.

The animated feature shows Chloe’s animated avatar in various action poses, usually outwitting and busting Lucifer, whose chin cleft and beard are even more prominent than Ellis. He has impossibly broad shoulders and a smug look on his face. Typical Lucifer

Although not much is known about the episode, a suspicious-looking door is visible in the background as Chloe sends Lucifer spinning in the air. Given the first-look images, the episode will definitely be quite the watch!
