Netflix shares much-awaited ‘Gyeongseong Creature' trailer

Back in 2022, Netflix confirmed it had secured the streaming rights to K-drama Gyeongseong Creature, and fans can now watch a trailer for the upcoming series.

Starring Han So-hee and Park Seo-jun, Part 1 will debut on December 22nd, 2023 on Netflix, with Part 2 dropping two weeks later, on January 5th, 2024.

The streamer is said to have an “immense amount of confidence in the production, further raising anticipation for the upcoming thriller” and has already secured a second season.

The fantasy-thriller is set in the spring of 1945, and follows the lives of individuals living in the colonial city of Gyeongseong (now Seoul) during Japan’s rule over Korea. Far from a period drama, human greed has given rise to ravenous monsters the characters come up against.

Park Seo-jun plays Jang Tae-sang, the Bukchon district’s wealthiest man. Starring alongside him is Han So-hee, who plays Yoon Chae-ok, an adept bounty hunter and sleuth who locates missing people.

The trailer shows their tense first meeting, as well as their trip to a mysterious hospital that patients never come back from.

Locked in cages, masked men move bodies around its basement – but Tae-song and Chae-ok find a monster has been let free and are soon confronted by it.
