Netflix’s 'Sex Education' star talks about the series ending

Netflix’s Sex Education season three was one of the most anticipated drops of this year and had already gained massive viewing numbers. While the show deals with a lot of raunchy yet educational stuff that might make a little awkward family binge session, the wide range of characters help heighten the emotional quotient and adds relatability to the show.

Besides Asa Butterfield and Emma Mackey starring in main roles as Otis and Maeve, 26-year-old BAFTA-winning actress Aimee Lou Wood also plays the eponymous character, Aimee Gibbs.

After a lot of misunderstandings, she manages to befriend Maeve Wiley and they become an iconic friendship duo. The third season sees Aimee having a goat as a pet and attending therapy at Otis’ mother, Dr Jean Milburn’s office.

Wood spoke of how difficult it was to shoot the scenes with the goat. “How the day was going to go was all dependent on [Folly the goat],” she said.

“Because honestly, I had no control over that goat. And I didn’t want to. I wanted her to lead the way. But that did also mean that it took up a lot of time.” However, the star has hinted at the series coming to a close soon.

After the fourth season was confirmed with the fans “wanting more”, Wood spoke about the future of the show and whether it would go on indefinitely. “I’m not sure because there’s a part of me that could just do it forever. But there’s also a part of me that’s like, ‘No – we’ve all got to go and do different things and play different parts’,” she said.

Wood also spoke of how the age and timing need to be perfect and believable while saying that the series “probably is closer now to ending than it is to the start.”

She says that while the news might leave fans devastated, it is always great to leave them thirsty for more.

The three seasons of Sex Education are now streaming on Netflix.
