Netflix releases the trailer for Addison Rae-led 'He’s All That'

When it was announced that Robert Iscove’s popular 1999 teen movie She’s All That was getting a remake, fans were pretty excited to note their star. The premise of the story has been switched and He’s All That and Tiktok sensation Addison Rae will be starring in the lead role alongside Tanner Buchanan, Peyton Meyer, Madison Pettis and others.

Mark Waters will direct and is well known for getting the best out of chaotic teens in high school amidst rising dramatic tension, having directed Mean Girls. This version of He’s All That will premiere on August 27, 2021. The trailer of the film was released today.

This upcoming teen rom-com is based on a screenplay written by R. Lee Feming Jr. and is a gender-swapped remake of the original.

Rae stars as Padgett Swayer, a popular influencer on the internet, while Buchanan’s Cameron Kweller is anti-social, has no friends and is basically getting bullied by Padgett’s ex, who cheats on her on the live stream.

The trailer is like any other teen film, with high-schoolers having exceptionally (and unrealistically) well-toned bodies and wearing expensive clothing. It is everything that American high schools are, according to Hollywood, at least.

Padgett gets dumped and takes on her new “project”, Cameron, all for a bet with her friends. Her mission is to turn Cameron into the most eligible stud in school. However, all bets have consequences, and Padgett shall face hers soon.

In an interesting snippet from the trailer, we even get to see Kourtney Kardashian commenting on Cameron: “a little scruffy, but cute”. Kardashian, 42, and Rae, 20, are good friends off-screen and can often be seen breaking the internet with their outings or Instagram posts.
