Netflix releases the official teaser trailer for ‘Vikings: Valhalla’

After epic success on Vikings, Michael Hirst is coming back with a brilliant spin-off series called Vikings: Valhalla that Jeb Stuart will helm. Netflix dropped the teaser trailer yesterday, and the setting seems to be equally impeccable, with evocative storytelling and incredible cinematography.

Set nearly a hundred years after the original series, the premise of this show will witness the near obliteration of the Vikings as the English kingdom stands steadfast against the Scandinavian raiders.

Three claims to the English throne following the demise of King Edward the Confessor change the historical course of England forever. A sexual assault alters a woman’s faith who vehemently defends the old Norse religion. Her half-brother has issues with his father, and her lover is on his way to avenge an attempted genocide.

With an extraordinary premise that promises blood and gore aplenty, fans cannot wait for the premiere. Since there is a huge time gap between its predecessor and Valhalla, the cast does not feature familiar faces from the Vikings saga.

The trailer sees one of the mightiest Vikings, Leif Erikson and the rest of the cast before showing various montages of bloodied soldiers, gruesome battles and crumbling bridges.

Starring Sam Corlett as Erikson, the rest of the cast includes Frida Gustavsson, Bradley Freegard, Leo Suter, Johannes Haukur Johannesson, Laura Berlin, David Oakes, Caroline Henderson and more.

Vikings: Valhalla is slated to premiere on Netflix on February 25th, 2022.
