Netflix announce 'Back In Action' with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz

In a video teasing an upcoming slate of movies, Netflix has announced a new film, Back In Action, which will star Hollywood A-listers Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.

Whilst details on the film are currently sparse, it is understood to be an action comedy. Seth Gordon is at the helm of directing the movie which he co-wrote with Brendan O’Brien. Other actors understood to be making appearances are Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler.

It was initially announced in 2022 that Cameron Diaz would be coming out of retirement to star in the new comedy. Produced by Good One Productions, the film is yet to have an official release date.

Diaz retired from acting in 2014 after starring in three successful comedies, The Other Woman, Sex Tape and Annie. She left as she wanted to focus on her family life and raise her daughter instead of spending days on end in front of the camera.

After filming Back in Action, Diaz has announced she will be going back into retirement for the same reasons. Despite enjoying the process, the long work days and time away from family are too much, and she would rather be closer to home.

Despite rumours about friction on set, including a claim that Jamie Foxx had a tantrum and fired several people, Diaz claims that her decision to retire has nothing to do with her Back In Action co-star.
