Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite for a Netflix spy thriller series

Let’s freaking go, people! If you were missing Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour after Stranger Things, well… neither was Netflix. The fan-favourite father-daughter duo is officially reuniting for a yet-to-be-named spy thriller series, and honestly? This one sounds like it’s got all the right ingredients.

Netflix has handed the project a straight-to-series order, with Brown and Harbour not only starring but also serving as executive producers. Instead of revisiting Eleven’s and Hopper’s dynamic, they are getting into a brand-new father-daughter relationship. Harbour plays Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert who has been out of the game for years. Millie Bobby Brown stars as Rebecca, his estranged daughter who followed him into the FBI.

Just then, things go sideways. Rebecca disappears during a mission, forcing Matt back into an espionage world that has changed substantially since he walked away. Talk about getting thrown into the deep end.

Now here is where it gets even better. The series comes from Jack Thorne, the writer behind Netflix’s Enola Holmes films, where he has previously worked with Brown and one of the creators of the Emmy-winning Adolescence. A24 is producing the project, which is a pretty solid sign that Netflix is aiming for something more solid than just another cookie-cutter action series.

The reunion has actually been brewing for a while. During recent interviews, Harbour accidentally let slip that he and Brown had multiple projects in the works before catching himself. Millie Bobby Brown revealed that the project was, in fact, Harbour’s idea, giving him full credit for bringing the pair back together. She believes that this father-daughter dynamic is her comfort zone.

With Brown’s and Harbour’s chemistry and Throne behind the camera, this already feels like one of Netflix’s most intriguing upcoming originals, especially for those who miss Stranger Things.
