Lindsay Lohan Releases ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ cover

The actor Lindsay Lohan has released a rendition of ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, a rendition made famous by her iconic 2004 movie Mean Girls

Sharing the song ahead of the release of her upcoming movie Christmas in Wonderland, which is due to be released on Netflix on November 10th. Playing the starring role, Lohan appears as Sierra Belmont, a hotel heiress with amnesia who falls for a local lodge owner, played by Chord Overstreet. Dropping on the streaming platform just in time for the heart of the holiday season, the movie also features the likes of Kate Rachesky, Robert Daniels and Jack Wagner.

Taking to Twitter to announce news of the new cover by Lohan, the official Netflix account wrote, “Break out your [camcorder emoji] because yes, that is Lindsay Lohan singing ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ in the Falling For Christmas trailer!”.

The tweet references the classic moment in Mark Waters’ 2004 teen comedy Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey, in which Lohan’s Cady performs a dance of ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ along with her three ‘friends’ Regina (Rachel McAdams), Karen (Amanda Seyfried) and Gretchen (Lacey Chabert). In the audience, George’s mother, played by Amy Poehler, films the whole dance on a camcorder whilst busting out several dance moves.

An influential classic, Mean Girls inspired a whole generation of young people upon its release and has since become a wildly popular piece of pop-culture greatness.
