No show in 2021 has got people talking like effectively as Netflix’s period drama Bridgerton. The new series has been a hit across the globe, and now Kim Kardashian could be making an appearance in the second season of the programme.
The show, which was recently commissioned for three more seasons despite the second season still being in production, is already expanding to major new lengths. The upcoming season will follow the story of the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey with Sex Education star, Simone Ashley, starring opposite Bailey as Kate. Filming is to begin in the UK in the spring.
The announcement comes after the sad news that Rege-Jean Page, perhaps the show’s ultimate breakout star, will not be making a return to the famed house. His role as Duke of Hastings saw Page gain worldwide acclaim, and now he seems hell-bent on making the most of it.
Kardashian was loud and proud about her adoration for the first series of the show, with Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan posting on social media to show that the love between the cast of the show and her was reciprocal.
Coughlan tweeted, “As the world’s number one Bridgerton Stan does Kim Kardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons, and we talked about them all the time during our fittings? Because I feel like she should know this.”
“What?! I am freaking out!” Kardashian tweeted in response. “Can I please come to a fitting?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!”
Coughlan then said: “Omg yesss of course we would love to have you! Also, did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know”. Kardashian gleefully replied: “OMG I’m gonna faint!!!!!! Does this make me an honorary Duchess in Bridgerton ?!?!?!? I am the corset Queen!”
Kardashian has previously made cameos in other programmes she’s loved, like How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls. Hence, there is a real possibility that she will follow through on her promise by appearing in Bridgerton.
