Joseph Quinn teases return of 'Stranger Things' character

Joseph Quinn has delighted Stranger Things fans by teasing the possible return of his character in the last season of the Netflix drama.

The actor was undeniably a fan favourite when he took to the screen playing Eddie Munson, the leader of The Hellfire Club, in Stranger Things season four. However, his run was short-lived, as following a ropey season on the run, his character met a somewhat gruesome end in the upside-down.

In a town shrouded in mystery such as Hawkins, fans haven’t given up hope and believe that Quinn’s character could well appear in the show’s final series. To add fuel to the fire, Quinn himself has addressed these rumours, and things could be looking promising for fans of Munson.

During an interview with ET while promoting his new movie A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel to the silent smash A Quiet Place, Quinn was asked about the likelihood of his Stranger Things character making a comeback. In a short answer, he revealed that “chances are high” that he would be reunited with the show’s cast and crew at some point in the near future.

“I love those guys! I’d love to come and say hello,” said Quinn when talking about the show. When a reporter said they believe he might return as Munson, Quinn replied, “I might have that feeling, too… Or maybe I don’t. Who knows? I don’t know! Who knows?”

When talking about season five generally, Quinn was respectful of the big job that the writers and team of the series have trying to bring such a loved show to a close. “I’m sure they’re working very hard to land the plane,” he said, “It’s been a long time that they’ve been working on that, so I’m really delighted that they’re kind of getting towards the end, and they’re having a nice time.”

Stranger Things season five is currently in production. The series was delayed due to the Hollywood writers’ strike; however, in January 2024, the cast and crew reunited and announced they were working on the final season.
