Is ‘Murder Mindfully’ returning for season three?
Netflix ensured the final week of May was a party with three back-to-back series returns, spiking curiosity among fans about their current renewal status. While the buzz has already approached A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and The Four Seasons, how can the Murder Mindfully fans stay behind?
The second season of the dark comedy series follows Björn Diemel as he struggles to juggle two entirely different worlds. On one hand, he’s desperate to improve his family life, especially his relationship with his daughter. On the other hand, he has to tackle two warring mafia clans without leadership.
At the same time, the Murder Mindfully protagonist has been suggested by his mindfulness coach to stay more grounded with his past, since the source of trauma can often become an outlet of healing. And as we see, the more the season progresses, the more Björn feels closer to a younger version of himself. Although this self-interaction is a healing exercise with a therapeutic purpose, it doesn’t take long for it to evolve into something sinister.
By the end of season two, Björn, however, has a much better understanding of the source of his anger. It dawns upon him that the emotional neglect that has shaped his childhood has, in turn, influenced many of his decisions. While the realisation is absolutely crucial, it leaves viewers pondering if it’s entirely a win. Of course, Björn indeed learns to understand himself better. However, he continues to avoid the consequences of the damage he brings to others.
This contradiction doesn’t let him be at peace with himself, truly, which also raises the question: Is Björn’s journey actually over with the second season of Murder Mindfully? Well, thankfully not.
Netflix renewed the German series for a third instalment in January 2026 before the second season of Murder Mindfully could even premiere. So, there’s absolutely no doubt that Björn is coming back for more chaos and blood, sooner than you think.
That said, although season three is officially in the cards, the details, including the release window, storyline, and cast, remain shrouded in mystery. While it’s a relief that fans won’t have to be on their toes in hopes of a confirmation, they will have to wait until more updates arrive on the next chapter.
