Is ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ coming back for a third season?
Netflix literally served this week with not one or two, but three highly anticipated sophomore seasons of hit shows, including that of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, based on Holly Jackson’s thriller novel series. So, understandably, subscribers have been busy.
But once the final sequences roll out and the silence kicks in, the questions surrounding renewals start piling up, as they have already.
Similarly, after the explosive season two finale of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, it’s only natural to be curious about whether Pippa Fitz-Amobi will return once more to solve yet another gripping case in a potential third season. However, BBC and Netflix have yet to greenlight the series comeback, leaving the future of the book-to-screen adaptation a mystery for now.
Months after Pip originally wrapped the Andie Bell case in the first season, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was renewed for a second season in November 2024. If the trajectory mirrors this time around, fans might have to wait quite some time before getting an official announcement.
But then again, Netflix considers several factors before renewing its original slate of productions, including viewership numbers and completion rates. And since A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has dropped a second season just now, it’s too early to say anything for sure. Having said that, the likelihood is pretty high for the teen sleuth’s return and here’s why.
The first season of the YA crime thriller was based on the first book of Jackson’s novel series, which welcomed viewers into Pip’s world and intrigued them with the Andie Bell case. Meanwhile, the second season adapted Good Girl, Bad Blood, the second book in the trilogy, which pushed Pip deep into a dangerous case, despite her initial plans to stay away from further investigations.
With the first two books adapted, that leaves room for the third and final book, As Good As Dead, to be adapted into a third season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Given that it is believed to be the most intense of the three, it could easily shape into the most gripping season of the show.
Yet, keeping in mind that the second season nearly took two years to arrive, if a third season even does happen, viewers are in for a good period of waiting. So, until more information surfaces, tune into the first and second seasons of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, now streaming on Netflix.
