How Emmy-winner Marc Pilcher’s death affected 'Bridgerton' star

Netflix’s Bridgerton paid homage to the show’s Emmy-winning stylist Marc Pilcher after his untimely demise from Covid-19. He won an Emmy for his outstanding work as a stylist on the sets of the period drama.

He also has worked on projects like Downton Abbey, Star Wars: Episode IX- The Rise of Skywalker etc. Actor Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, took to Twitter to share the tragic news.

“So heartbroken by the loss of Marc Pilcher, the brilliant and visionary hair and makeup designer for Bridgerton season one,” she said. “Marc was so passionate about his work and so tremendously talented. Not even a month ago he won his first Emmy award.”

She also took this opportunity to spread awareness about the gravity of the situation and how dangerous Covid-19 is, urging people to get vaccinated.

“It’s a tragedy that he’s been taken so young when he had so much yet to do. Please also use this as a reminder that Covid is still a very real and present danger, please get vaccinated and mask up to protect yourself and others.” She also expressed her love and condolences to his friends, family and “his wonderful team Lynda, Lou, Adam, Hollie, Tanya and Claire”.

Filmmaker Alice Lowe acknowledged the loss and also brought to the fore how important designers, stylists and the rest of the crew are on set, calling them “cheerleaders, counsellors, therapists, confidence coaches, pioneers, confiders, carers, magicians, comedians often too”.
