'Fool Me Once' fans delighted to hear of new Harlan Coben series announcement

The Netflix series Fool Me Once, starring Joanna Lumley and Michelle Keegan and based on the writing of American author Harlan Coben, has proven to be one of the most popular shows on the streaming service over the last year.

With such popularity has naturally come the anticipation from the show’s fans for more of the same and now they will be excited to learn that there has been an update one of the one two new shows Netflix are producing with Coben.

Missing You is now being filmed in Manchester and the cast announcement for the show has also been revealed with Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer, Steve Pemberton, Lisa Faulkner, Samantha Spiro, Lenny Henry and Mary Malone all appearing alongside Richard Armitage.

The series will focus on Detective Kat Donovan, who had her fiancé disappear eleven years ago. However, when looking through her new romantic prospects on a dating app, she sees his face, bringing a world of memory flooding back in.

The synopsis for Missing You reads, “Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.”

Josh will be played by Ashley Walters of Top Boy fame, while James Nesbitt, who previously appeared in Coben’s Stay Close, will play Calligan. The final cast announcement is for Matt Jay-Willis to join the show.

Producers Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee recently stated, “We’re delighted to have Victoria Asare-Archer adapting Harlan’s brilliant book for Netflix. Missing You is a thrilling ride with a huge heart and we have a wonderful cast to bring it to life.”

Asare-Archer had added, “Kat Donovan was a thrill to write – she’s such a brilliantly messy, complicated woman. I’m really excited that we have a hugely talented ensemble cast on board – it’s a dream! I can’t wait to see them dive into Harlan’s world.”

As of yet, there is no update on when Missing You will be released, but considering it is now being filmed and the final cast announcement has been made, don’t be too surprised to hear some more news in the coming months.

In other Harlan Coben series news, Fool Me Once star Dino Fetscher recently spoke of the importance of gay representation, noting one of his scenes in the series, “The reveal of me coming out to really moves our story forward and bonds us and builds that trust.”
