From The Diplomat to Nobody Wants This, October has brought a long-awaited reunion of our beloved Netflix stars. Although we’re not exactly eyeing a reunion of that grandeur this week, the arrival arc still screams smash hit.

Five Netflix releases to watch out for this week
The One About Matthew Perry (Mary Robertson, 2026)
Matthew Perry’s untimely demise in October 2023 brought the whole world to tears. Now, just in time for his death anniversary, Netflix is dropping the highly anticipated documentary The One About Matthew Perry on October 27th to honour the life, legacy, and career of the television icon whose comedic charisma lives rent-free in every mind. The upcoming three-part documentary chronicles his comedic rise in the industry, featuring creative collaborators and friends as they recount shared memories.
The One About Matthew Perry brings to light never-before-heard testimonies from the Friends actor’s sister, Mia Perry Bowick and his lifelong friends. Directed by Emmy winner Mary Robertson, the docu-series showcases unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family’s archive, offering Netflix subscribers a front-row seat to the real-life tomb of tributes from those who knew him best without a second thought.
Balaraw: Blood Island (Rae Red, 2026)
Premiering on Netflix on October 29th, Balaraw: Blood Island is a forthcoming Filipino horror-thriller that blends psychological suspense and folk-horror elements with a gripping personal family mystery. Directed by Rae Red, the Netflix Original series follows Sabina, whose stretched-out pursuit for answers about her mother, Rebecca, who vanished years ago, culminates in her arrival at an uncharted, eerie location known as Balaraw Island.
But on the ominous island, Sabina’s search soon turns into a dangerous game of survival and identity crisis after discovering that several people who attempted to reach the location were never seen again. Balaraw: Blood Island is a folklore-driven series about Sabina’s search for answers, which ultimately brings her head-on with the dark, sinister secrets hiding in the closet of her very own family members, forcing her to confront local legends and mythical creatures.
Collision Course (Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, 2026)
Up next on this week’s arrival arc is Collision Course, which marks Daniel Sánchez Arévalo’s directorial debut in the thriller genre. Releasing on Netflix on October 30th, the gripping new movie is set during the peak of a financial crisis. The story opens with a group of robbers storming a bank in Madrid to execute a highly sensitive and high-stakes heist, inadvertently triggering a chain of unpredictable events.
What starts as a simple bank robbery soon evolves into a dangerous game of betrayal, deceit, fear, and survival as the escape falls apart and accidentally unmasks a web of secret agendas, long-buried truths, and past treachery. Collision Course follows this band of thieves as they put everything on the line to survive, only to realise they’re not just trying to outrun law enforcement because nobody in the group is who they seem.
Dead-End Job (Kim Da-min, 2026)
If you’re missing Netflix Original K-dramas, the wait ends this week with Dead-End Job, slated for release on October 30th. Just in time for the Halloween watch party, the South Korean mystery-horror-fantasy series centres on Byeon Hyeok-jun, a young man snowed under a mountain of rising debt, who comes across a mysterious flyer for a tempting gig. After responding, the Spider Staffing Agency, run by the elusive Mr S hires him for a part-time job.
But this is no ordinary job since it pays 50 times the minimum hourly wage. The only non-negotiable catch is that employees cannot reveal what actually happens during assignments. Dead-End Job follows Hyeok-jun as he ventures into ordinary workplaces, hiding life-threatening supernatural forces where every uncalculated move can prove fatal in more ways than one.
A Couple of Lies (Kasper Barfoed, 2026)
Finally, this week’s last entry is a gritty psychological thriller, A Couple of Lies, releasing on October 30th. The Netflix Original Swedish thriller follows Helen and Carl as they trade their home in Stockholm’s archipelago for a palatial, sun-drenched villa in Sicily, swapping lives with Scarlett and Adam, a couple they are yet to meet, to unwind.
But the bliss doesn’t last long when Scarlett and Adam find out that their Swedish stay is planted with an extensive hidden network of surveillance cameras actively keeping eyes on them. Meanwhile, in Sicily, Carl is approached by law enforcement and interrogated about an unbelievable crime, making the cross-border getaway a test for both couples who simply cannot trust anyone anymore.
