The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare (Skye Borgman, 2026)
Scheduled to hit Netflix shelves on July 29th, The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare is Skye Borgman’s upcoming true-crime documentary that recounts the tragic 2022 killings of four University of Idaho Students in Moscow. Back in November that year, an intruder entered an off-campus rental house on King Road in the early morning hours, fatally stabbing four students – Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin.
The string of murders shook the nation as the killer remained at large for nearly two weeks before digital footprints, surveillance footage, and DNA evidence led police to the perpetrator. The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare features police bodycam footage, never-before-seen text messages, and direct interviews with the victims’ families, detailing the subsequent investigation that resulted in the arrest and conviction of the culprit.
Final Project (Netflix Original Production, 2026)
Slated to arrive on July 29th, Final Project is a forthcoming Mexican teen drama that’s exceptionally short on details. But thankfully, the synopsis is not something viewers should worry about. The suspenseful series follows Tamara, who starts at a new school hoping for a fresh start only to be cornered by a series of online attacks complete with cruel messages and a vicious cycle of digital cyberbullying.
Although the digital heckling derails Tamara’s plans to start anew, the ordeal escalates when a classmate’s twisted challenge sparks an unexpected, risky bond. Final Project revolves around a sudden, tragic incident involving Tamara that shakes her school journey, prompting a police detective to step in while leaving fellow students desperate to ensure the skeletons don’t come out of the closet.
Wrath (José Henrique Fonseca and Igor Verde, 2026)
Also releasing on July 29th is Wrath, a powerhouse Brazilian action-thriller series starring Vinicius Neri. The Netflix Original drama follows a young, unidentified man who is saved from the brink of death in Rio de Janeiro, the birthplace of MMA. Struck with acute amnesia, he is left with no memory of his past or who he is, leading to his eventual naming as Marcelo by a martial arts coach who originally takes him in.
Although Marcelo has long lost his sense of purpose with the memory loss, training and stepping into the increasingly competitive MMA ring turns his life around. Wrath revolves around Marcelo’s journey to find meaning in his fragmented life as he begins piecing together clues about his real identity, inadvertently falling into a dark trap of crime, old rivalries, and hidden secrets that could upend his life and his coach’s.
The Bombing of Pan Am 103 (Michael Keillor, 2026)
As one of the most-looked-forward-to releases of the week, The Bombing of Pan Am 103 deserves a spot on the weekly watchlist. Premiering on July 30th, the investigative limited series recounts the tragic 1988 explosion of Pan Am Flight 103 over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie. The shocking incident resulted in the deaths of 270 people, prompting the largest murder investigation in Scottish policing.
The Bombing of Pan Am 103 offers insights into what’s largely deemed as one of the most dangerous acts of terrorism on British soil. The limited series is constructed with the testimony of those present and subsequently presented as the untold true story of Scottish authorities’ collaboration with US law enforcement that chronicles the families’ quest for justice.
GATE24: The Border (Jota Tsunehiro, 2026)
Wrapping up the weekly marathon for the week ending August 2nd is GATE24: The Border, arriving on July 31st. The Japanese drama series follows an eccentric customs officer, Machi Mori, with unparalleled observational skills, who joins a cross-agency airport task force. The show opens in an era where an alarming surge of international crimes and tight border restrictions have resulted in the creation of GATE24.
Although other airport agencies treat the new cross-ministry team as an unwelcome outsider, limiting them to a small, isolated inspection booth in a corner of the airport handling minor charter flights, the underdog unit starts using their sharp instincts and exceptional skills to solve tricky smuggling rings and intercept illegal items, soon evolving into ideal frontline protectors.
