First images of 'Enola Holmes 2' unveiled

Exciting times are ahead for Netflix, as the screening service drops the very first official photos for the adventure sequel, Enola Holmes 2.

The screenshots from the movie show Millie Bobby Brown as the titular detective, alongside the likes of Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, and Louis Partridge. Also included in the cast are Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, David Westhead, David Thewlis, Hannah Dodd and Chloé Booyens.

Helmed by director Harry Bradbeer, who has previously worked on the award-winning shows Fleabag and Killing Eve, the screenplay for the forthcoming mystery thriller will be penned by Jack Thorne, whose previous credits include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and The Aeronauts.

The sequel continues the adventures of Holmes, a teen detective-for-hire, who takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, only for the simple mystery to spiral dangerously out of control. The first film in the series did good business for Netflix upon its release in 2020, with 76 million subscribers watching the movie in its first four weeks of release, making it one of the most significant releases in a year which was hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Based on the Edgar Award-nominated book series by Nancy Springer, Enola Holmes was buoyed by the international popularity of Millie Bobby Brown, who has recently completed the fourth season of Stranger Things which received critical and commercial acclaim.

Enola Holmes 2 is currently scheduled to be released on Netflix on November 4th.
