Filming locations for the Netflix series ‘Wednesday’ revealed

Currently, the new Tim Burton project, Wednesday, is the Netflix series on everybody’s lips. The Addams Family spin-off has been lauded by fans, and the filming locations used have now been revealed.

Starring Jenna Ortega in the main role as Wednesday, which adds a Gen-Z twist to a classic story. Ortega lives up to the legacy of Christina Ricci and Lisa Loring, who created a mark with their individual portrayal of Wednesday and adds her own flavour to this legendary character. 

In the series, Wednesday is sent to Nevermore Academy, which is home to a collection of outcasts from society, including vampires, werewolves, and gorgons. As Wednesday struggles to live up to her mother’s legacy, she is caught in a turmoil that involves a bloody murder mystery, her family’s dark past and her traumatic psychic visions.

Season one began filming in September 2021 and continued production till March 2022. Post-production for Wednesday took eight months, and details about the timeline of the second series are yet to be confirmed.

According to NME, Nevermore Academy was filmed at Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni, Romania. The castle is open to the public, and in the same article, Emma Myers, who plays Enid Sinclair, commented: “There were these really cool swings on the outside of the castle that a lot of us went to play on between [takes]. I definitely tried to sneak off several times to snoop around but unfortunately I didn’t get very far…”

Wednesday also shot the series at Bucharest Film Studios in Bucharest, the Romanian capital. The studio has previously been where they filmed The Voyagers and The Devil Inside.
