Filming locations for ‘Love Is Blind: UK’ revealed

The first instalment of Love Is Blind: UK hit Netflix on August 7th, introducing viewers to a new selection of singles hoping to find love in the pods.

In line with previous seasons of the reality show, the new British series places contestants in a series of different locations correlating to the different developments in their relationships. They start out in the pods, which aim to remove physical attributes from their initial dating choices.

Once the couples have gotten engaged, they are finally permitted to see one another before they are swept away to a honeymoon destination. At the end of the series, they return to their homes and, finally, decide whether or not to actually get married at the altar.

The filming locations for the UK version of the show have now been revealed. For the first part of the show, which takes place in the pods, the contestants were flown to Stockholm, Sweden.

Though the pods have been shipped across the United States and recreated in different countries for new seasons, Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen has suggested that the location of the pods doesn’t actually matter. “The pods could literally be in any country, in any city, in any place in the world,” he told Tudum, “The pods aren’t about place. The pods are about an experience.”

Coelen suggested that the pods were “designed” to make contestants focus on the relationships and connections they’re making, rather than their physical location.

For the couples in the UK cohort who made it through the pod stage and agreed to an engagement, they were flown to a resort in the Greek Island of Corfu for the honeymoon stage of the show. According to the Metro, they stayed in the luxury five-star hotel Angsana Corfu Resort and Spa, which boasts sea views and private pools.

After returning to their homes back in England, the wedding section of the series took place in the north-east, at a country house in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham.

The first part of Love Is Blind: UK hit Netflix on August 7th, providing viewers with a first glimpse at the couples through their interactions in the pods. Next week, on August 14th, the second instalment of the series will arrive, presumably following the couple’s growing relationships in the honeymoon stage. The third and final instalment of the series will arrive on August 21st, when viewers will discover which couples are in it for the long haul.
