Filming for Netflix’s 'Bridgerton' season 2 has finally resumed

One of Netflix’s most popular titles, Bridgerton, has finally resumed shooting for the second season following the third halt due to a Covid-19 scare in the crew. Production had stopped on Sunday after some of their crew tested positive for the virus.

The pictures released by Daily Mail showed the cast and crew looking very happy in their Buckinghamshire before the whole production came to a halt.

According to the pictures, and the information that has been gathered about the second season, it will focus on the eldest Bridgerton sibling Anthony and the turmoil in his romantic life as he tries to shed off his playboy image and settle for the lady of his dreams.

Simone Ashley plays his potential love interest, Kate Sharma. She is clad in a purple gown, looking beautiful, as she sits on a boat across a character named Mr Dorset who is rowing it across the creek. Ashley, 26, who was previously seen in Sex Education and The Sister, has secured the biggest role of her career yet.

Anthony and Kate are supposed to be at loggerheads with each other as Anthony tries to secure Kate’s half-sister, Edwina’s (played Charithra Chandran) hand in marriage. Edwina’s entry into their lives causes conflict and tension and amidst all the chaos, Anthony falls in love with Kate.

The season is based on Julia Quinn’s book The Viscount Who Loved Me, a part of her Bridgerton book series.

Filming had begun in spring but had stopped twice in July due to various Covid scares before the recent shooting halt.

However, with the recent implementation of Covid protocols in the health and safety department, shooting resumed very quickly. The first part of the season streamed on the streaming giant in December 2020 as a Christmas gift. Fans are eagerly awaiting the second season.

Besides the original cast, namely Phoebe Dynevor, Jonathan Bailey, Claudia Jessie and more, the new cast includes Shelley Conn, Calam Lynch, Charithra Chandran etc.
