15 Netflix shows cancelled in 2026 so far

Netflix seems to be dating the cancellation axe in 2026, and if you have made the rookie mistake of getting attached to one of its shiny new shows, bad luck, darling. 15 titles on our list have already been cancelled or effectively shown the door, and we are only in September.

The latest name on the chopping block is Ransom Canyon, Netflix’s Western romance which only came to Netflix last year. One year and two seasons is all it took for Netflix to show the show the back door.

Next on the list is Terminator Zero, which feels a little cruel because fans and critics were hardly throwing tomatoes at it. Creator Mattson Tomlin said the response was “tremendous”; alas! The audience wasn’t big enough to justify another expensive animated season. Even worse, he already had season two written. Ouch.

The Vince Staples Show also got the boot after two seasons. It had plenty of personality, but personality only gets you so far in the streaming world. The series pulled just 3.1million views across both seasons during the second half of 2025, and Netflix clearly wanted more bang for its buck.

The Abandons was a strange case. The Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson Western managed a much healthier 19.8million views, but it also had some behind-the-scenes drama, including creator Kurt Sutter leaving before production had wrapped. Netflix never gave an official reason for cancelling it, so the exact culprit remains anyone’s guess.

Perhaps the award for the most unexpected cancellation goes to The Boroughs. The supernatural drama, produced by the Duffer Brothers, pulled nearly 19million views in its first 18 days and even had a season two in the writers’ room. Still, Netflix pulled the plug, with its hefty production costs possibly making the numbers look less impressive.

How can we forget, With Love, Meghan? Now Netflix hasn’t officially slapped a big “cancelled” sticker on Meghan Markle’s lifestyle series, but there are currently no plans for season three. Season two managed two million views in Netflix’s second-half 2025 figures, which isn’t exactly champagne-popping territory.

Add Building the Band, Selling the City, Strip Law, Class, Bandi, Pop The Balloon LIVE, F1: The Academy, What’s in the Box? and Miss Governor, and Netflix’s 2026 graveyard is getting full. The message is pretty clear: buzz and big names are lovely, but if the numbers don’t show, Netflix will happily roll the credits.
